Well this isn’t good.

Box of Sample Bags - Alesya BagsThe sample bags are HERE.  At my HOUSE.  In my HANDS.

Now, the crappy part is they came at 10:00 AM.  Which means I missed my photo shoot deadline by ONE HOUR.  But I didn’t know!  Wendy told me they could come as late as tomorrow.  I couldn’t risk paying for a photo shoot that didn’t happen.  Such is life as an entrepreneur.

It was such a big deal to have the final bags here I called my Mom on Facetime so she could watch me open them.  My hands were shaking while I cut open the box because I didn’t want to cut the bags too.  My Mom said “I just don’t want you to cut yourself!”

We opened the first bag and then the second and third.  They are fabulous.  Just want I wanted.  Just what I expected.  Just what I envisioned.

Now the bags will be kept in a very safe place until the photo shoot on May 15th.  I can’t risk a tear, rip or even a scuff!  Today I’ll be walking around with a little goofy grin on my face.  The bags are here.  And they’re real.  And I know you’re going to love them.

I was mildly obsessed with the shoes at last night’s Hunter Dixon show.  Oxford in all kinds of colors and varieties paired with slacks, shorts, dresses and skirts.  Its time to call them an official wardrobe staple.

The third day of Charleston Fashion Week included local swimwear designer Julie Wheat and her line Cavortress.  After she described her personal style as “think love child of Audrey Hepburn and Chrissy from Three’s Company gets adopted and raised by Kat Von D” I was excited.

Here are a few photos from backstage.

Giuseppi's - Alesya BagsI love a frou-frou restaurant as much as the next gal, but sometimes refined food just doesn’t cut the mustard.  With January (aka the Diet Month) over, its time to go for something with a little more substance.  Giuseppi’s in Mt. Pleasant hits the spot.

They have a huge menu including some delicious looking pizza.  We decided to get one of their famous “Weggies”, a cheese steak and classic spaghetti for my daughter.  A wide selection of beer was a surprise, but will keep us coming back.

Last night I went to the Charleston Comedy Festival and saw headliner Nate Bargatze.  Check out the video of him (above).  He was even funnier last night and had the crowd rolling.  As a Southern (Nate is from Tennessee) he was extremely relatable.

The first act on stage was The Village Theater – four smart and funny dudes making up a very entertaining improv troupe.  (Two of the member above are pretending to ride in a chariot.)  The crown was thrilled when they not only opened the night but also appeared between the second act and Nate Bargatze.  The other two gentlemen in the group are pictured below.  If you see any of them this weekend, make sure to ask for their Micky Mouse impersonation.

The second group of the night was the Shock T’s – a trio (pictured below) who lend their considerable musical talents to the world of comedy.  My favorite song of the night had to be their redition of Aqua’s Barbie Girl, which sadly, I recongized with the first line.  Head over to their site to hear some of their original songs to get your weekend off to a funny (good funny, not weird funny) start.
