Yesterday I was really late to a lunch meeting. Almost a half hour. While someone waited at the table for me.
UHG!
I hate, hate, hate being late, late, late. It’s the worst. It makes me feel sick to my stomach and throws off my whole day.
In the morning, I’d gotten caught up in some projects and personal issues and simply lost track of time. Terrible excuse, but true.
Its made me realize I need to go back to having one calendar. In Microsoft Office. With those annoying helpful little reminders.
I’ve been avoiding it because I didn’t think having a traditional work calendar fit it with my new creative lifestyle. Oh hell, let’s just say it – I didn’t think it was very cool. I was a rebel without reminders.
There’s nothing cool about wasting someone else’s time. So its back to the uncool calendar I go.
Post Script – To the person I left waiting at the table: I didn’t want to introduce you on the blog this way, so I didn’t. When our teams do something fantastic together you’ll get a proper introduction then. Looking forward to it.
I feel the same way about being late. By the time I do walk in, I’ve done my penance because my stomach is in knots.
